Who we are...
We've been here.
We were both once that newbie writer approaching The Lofty Magazine Editors with trembling knees and a sweaty file of printed pages (fun fact: we attended the JWWS together, in 2016, and met our Mishpacha editors there for the first time.)
We’ve sat in front of computer screens, staring at yet another rejection email, wondering just how to break that mythical barrier separating us wannabe writers from The Greats in the publishing houses and magazine offices.
We've been here too.
We struggled and sweated and toiled over stories and paragraphs and sentences and words, and then...
We’ve each published hundreds of articles across a range of genres (fiction, feature, interview, essay, stories, poetry), in a host of different magazines and publications. Oh and we've got a book or two between us as well.
Rochel Samet is a published author and writer of Mishpacha's "Double Take" column. Her fiction stories and serials appear in magazines worldwide.
Rivka Streicher is a creative writing teacher and personal writing coach. She is the author of "Song of the Sea" and a writer for Mishpacha magazine since 2014.
